Dana Ford fired after six seasons as Missouri State head coach

Dana Ford has been fired after six seasons as the head men’s basketball coach at Missouri State, the school announced on Sunday. Ford went 106-82 overall and 17-16 (8-12) this past season.

“Dana has been an amazing role model for our players and a great ambassador for our university and our program,” said AD Kyle Moats. “Likewise, he has given so much of his time in support of youth programs, charities and other community endeavors. That’s why this decision was not easy. I want to thank coach Ford and his staff for their hard work and professionalism during their tenure at Missouri State.”

Ford led the Bears to a 23-11 season back in 2021-22, but the team regressed back to the middle-of-the-pack in the MVC over the past two years. The team was eliminated from the MVC Tournament on Friday.
