  • Alma Mater: University of Cincinnati (BA, 1993)
  • Was an all-state basketball player at Whittier Christian HS in La Habra, CA and then started his collegiate career playing for Moe Iba at TCU
    • Spent one year at Santa Ana CC (CA) and then transferred, along with teammate and future NBA player Corie Blount, to Cincinnati
    • Played two seasons for head coach Bob Huggins, reaching the NCAA Final Four as a junior and the Elite Eight as a senior
  • After graduating from UC in 1993, Martin spent the next nine years playing professionally in the CBA and abroad in Asia
  • Started his coaching career in 2003 as an assistant coach at Jacobs Center HS back in Cincinnati
    • Next spent two seasons working at Cincinnati State CC (OH) as an assistant under Andre Tate
  • Hired by his former coach, Bob Huggins, in 2006 to be an assistant at Kansas State and then followed Huggins to WVU the following year
    • Worked under Huggins for a total of 16 seasons, during which time Martin was part of ten NCAA Tournament appearances including the Mountaineers’ trip to the Final Four in 2010
  • In July 2022, Martin was hired to be the head coach at South Carolina State in the MEAC
