  • Played basketball at Missouri for head coaches Chester Brewer and Osmond Field
  • First coaching roles were at Kansas Wesleyan, where he went 7-6 in one season as basketball head coach
    • Also coached the football team in 1914 and 1917, going 4-11 overall
  • Hired in 1926 to be the head coach at his alma mater, leading the Tigers for 20 seasons
    • Went 181-172 overall, winning three Big Six titles and reaching the NCAA Tournament in 1944
      • Served as the President of the NABC for the 1937-38 season
    • Also coached the Missouri golf team from 1926-41
  • Spent two years as SID at Missouri and two years as the athletic director towards the end of his coaching tenure
    • Inducted into the Missouri Tigers HOF (c/o 1991) and Missouri Sports HOF (c/o 1973)
