  • Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts
  • Alma Mater: North Carolina Central University (BA, 1996 & MA, 2013)
  • Graduated from Enloe HS in Raleigh, NC before enrolling at (then D-II) NCCU and playing for head coach Greg Jackson
    • Named to the All-CIAA First Time twice (junior and senior years) and went to two NCAA D-II Playoffs
    • By the time his career ended, he was third on the school’s all-time leading scorers list
    • Inducted into the NCCU Athletics Hall of Fame as a result of his stellar playing career
  • Played in Indonesia and Israel before getting into coaching at West Millbrook Middle School in his hometown of Raleigh
  • Spent three seasons as head coach at Sanderson HS, also in Raleigh, winning two Cap-7 tournament championships and going 59-25 overall
  • Returned to NCCU in 2007 as an assistant under Henry Dickerson and took over the program as head coach two years later in March 2009 as the program was still transitioning up to Division I
