- Hometown: Ocala, Florida
- Alma Mater: University of Florida (BS, 2004 & MS, 2006)
- Has two degrees from UF, where he served as a men’s basketball student manager under head coach Billy Donovan
- Spent two seasons on Donovan’s staff as the Director of Basketball Ops before being hired as an assistant at Florida Atlantic under Mike Jarvis
- Returned to Gainesville in 2011 as a full-time assistant for Donovan, a position he kept for four seasons
- Hired in April 2015 as the new head coach at Chattanooga, his first job outside the state of Florida
- Won the SoCon regular season and Tournament titles in 2016, leading the Mocs to the NCAA Tournament in his first year
- In March 2017, McCall was hired as the head coach at UMass
- Went 61-82 in five seasons at the helm but never reached the postseason; fired in March 2022
- Along with his wife, Allison, has two daughters
