Oscar Robertson Trophy
List of Oscar Robertson Trophy winners
Every year since 1959, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) has awarded the Oscar Robertson Trophy to recognize the most outstanding men’s college basketball player of the season. Originally known as the USBWA College Player of the Year, the award was renamed in 1998 to honor its first winner, Cincinnati point guard Oscar Robertson. This the longest consistently-presented POY award in men’s college basketball. The award is presented on the Friday before the Final Four, along with the Henry Iba Award, which is given to the coach of the year as voted by the USBWA.
