Big Ten Player of the Year
List of Big Ten Player of the Year winners
The Big Ten Conference has awarded Big Ten Player of the Year honors every season since 1984-85. Four players have won the award multiple times (two each): Ohio State‘s Jim Jackson (1991-92), Michigan State‘s Mateen Cleaves (1998-99), Iowa‘s Luka Garza (2020-21) and Purdue‘s Zach Edey (2023-24). Michigan State is the program with the most awards (nine), followed by Ohio State (seven), Indiana and Purdue (six each). Originally awarded by both the media and conference coaches, it has been decided by the coaches only since 1992. See also: Big Ten Coach of the Year
