Georgia Southern announced on Thursday that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Brian Burg was not getting renewed. Coming off a 17-16 campaign, Burg went 43-45 overall in three seasons at the helm.
“I would like to thank Brian Burg for his contributions to our men’s basketball program over the past three seasons,” AD Jared Benko said in a statement. “No one wanted to bring a Sun Belt title home to Georgia Southern more than him, and we greatly appreciate his commitment towards accomplishing that goal with our student-athletes, coaches and staff.”
The Eagles last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and their last postseason appearance of any kind was at the 2016 CBI.
