Brian Kennedy resigns as NJIT head coach

After seven seasons at the helm, Brian Kennedy resigned on Monday as head men’s basketball coach at NJIT. Kennedy was 81-123 overall and had just one winning season. The Highlanders finished 7-23 this year.

“I would like to thank Coach Kennedy for his hard work and dedication to the University and our student-athletes during his time at NJIT as both an assistant and head coach,” AD Lenny Kaplan said in a statement.

NJIT has never played in the D-I NCAA Tournament, having moved up to the top level in 2006.
