- The Baldwin, NY (Long Island) native played for John D. Jones at D-II Nyack College (NY), serving as a two-time team captain
- Started his coaching career after graduating, spending two years as video coordinator under Jay Wright at Villanova
- Joined Billy Lange‘s staff at Navy in 2005 as an assistant; elevated to associate head coach in 2010
- Returned to his alma mater in 2012 to be the head coach at Nyack (now Alliance University) in NYC
- Went 47-108 over six seasons at the helm, failing to reach the postseason
- Spent one year as an assistant coach under Connor Johnson with the Delaware Blue Coats of the NBA G-League
- Hired in April 2019 to be the head coach at Maryland Eastern Shore, his first D-I head coaching role
- In November 2020, UMES opted out of the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19 concerns
- Through five years at the helm, Crafton went 43-76 overall; his 2022-23 team went 18-12 (9-5 MEAC)
