- Played three seasons at D-II Western State, earning All-Rocky Mountain Conference honors each year
- First job was as assistant DBO at Colorado for one season under Ricardo Patton
- First coaching jobs were at Division II Emporia State and Midland Junior College (the latter under Grant McCasland)
- Spent two seasons as an assistant under Randy Rahe at Weber State
- Worked for two years – one as an assistant and one as associate head coach – under Rex Walters at San Francisco
- Was on Leon Rice’s staff at Boise State for six seasons, three as an assistant and then three as Rice’s associate head coach
- Hired in May 2016 to be the new head coach at Northern Colorado
- Led the Bears to a 2018 CIT championship and went 80-50 over four seasons
- Left UNC to become the new head coach at Wyoming in March 2020
- Went 25-9 in his second season, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament
- Signed a contract extension in March 2022, but resigned two years later after four seasons at Wyoming
- Joined Grant McCasland‘s staff at Texas Tech as an assistant coach in May 2024
