- Alma Mater: California State University, Fullerton (BA, 1984)
- The California-native began his coaching career with the Golden Bears, working under head coach Lou Campanelli for seven seasons
- Headed to the Midwest in 1993 and spent the next four seasons on Kevin Stallings’ staff at Illinois State
- Was part of the 1996-97 Redbirds team that won the Missouri Valley and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament
- Left ISU in 1997 and spent several years working in the private sector, including a stint as COO of a real estate development company
- During this time, Wulbrun also spent seven seasons as the head boys’ basketball coach at Central Catholic HS in Bloomington, IL
- Returned to the college game in 2011, spending one season at Virginia Tech as one of Seth Greenberg‘s assistant coaches
- Hired in 2012 by Jerod Haase to be an assistant at UAB, then followed Haase back West to Stanford in 2016
- Worked under Haase, also a California-native, for a total of nine seasons across both schools, including three years as an associate head coach with the Cardinal
- Part of one NCAA Tournament and two NITs at UAB and likely would have been back in the NCAAT in 2020 with Stanford
- In March 2021, Wulbrun was announced as the new head coach of the Denver Pioneers in the Summit League
