- Alma Mater: St. Bonaventure University (BA, 1958)
- Named All-Monroe County three times in high school and played for head coach Eddie Donovan at St. Bonaventure
- Helped SBU win a the 1958 Western NY3 “Little Three” title as a senior (and co-captain)
- Became the head coach at his alma mater in 1961 at just 24 years old
- Compiled a 202-90 record in 12 seasons as the head coach
- Went to two NCAA Tournaments and two NITs with the program, which was Independent during his tenure
- Biggest accomplishment was leading the Bonnies to the 1970 NCAA Final Four behind All-American Bob Lanier
- Also became the University’s athletic director in 1965
- Stopped coaching in 1973 and focused solely on being AD, continuing to work in that capacity until 1992
- Served on the Board of Directors for the Atlantic-10 Conference and later as the league’s President (1985-88)
- Had successfully lobbied for St. Bonaventure’s admittance into the A-10 in 1979
- Inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame (class of 2002)
- Now in retirement, Weise lives in Rochester, NY; a daughter, Kris, is married to former St. Francis (NY) head coach Brian Nash
