Mike Schrage resigns after three seasons as Elon head coach

Elon head coach Mike Schrage has resigned after three seasons, the school announced on Tuesday. Schrage was hired in 2019 after two seasons as an assistant at Ohio State and went 33-52 overall with the Phoenix.

“I would like to thank Mike for his three years leading our program,” AD Dave Blank said in the release. “Mike, his wife, Amanda, and their children have been great Elon supporters during their time at Elon and we wish them the best of luck. Although they have decided to move in a different direction, we are confident we have a foundation in place to continue to build a very successful program at Elon. This is a position that is extremely appealing, and I anticipate a strong pool of candidates.”

All indications are that Schrage will be joining new head coach Jon Scheyer‘s staff at Duke. He previously worked there for nine seasons under Mike Krzyzewski (1999-2008).
