- Started his coaching career at San Diego HS (CA) before an assistant football coach at Cal in 1920
- Took over as head basketball coach in 1924, going 453-294 over thirty years at the helm
- Won a Premo-Porretta championship in 1927 and claimed seven PCC (now Pac-12) titles
- While much of his tenure was pre-NCAA Tournament, Price led the Bears to the NCAA Final Four in 1946
- On the football field, Price spent 30 years as an assistant coach and six seasons as head coach (1926-1930)
- 27-17-3 in six seasons as head coach and reached the 1928 Rose Bowl
- As an assistant coach, Price was part of five National Championships (1920, 1921, 1922, 1923 and 1937)
- Retired in 1954 at the age of 65 after spending nearly 35 years coaching at California
- Passed away in January 1968 at the age of 77
