- Born September 21, 1974
- Hometown: Baton Rogue, Louisiana / Valparaiso, Indiana
- Alma Mater: Valparaiso University (BS, 1998)
- Father, Homer Drew, was the head coach at Valparaiso from 1988-2002 and 2003-2011
- Brother, Scott Drew, was the Valpo head coach for the 2002-03 season before leaving for Baylor
- Played for his father at Valparaiso from 1994-1998, becoming a college basketball icon as a senior for a game winning shot in the NCAA Tournament that allowed the 13-seed Crusaders to upset 4-seed Ole Miss in the first round
- Drafted 16th overall in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets; went on to play six seasons for three NBA teams
- During his pro career, Drew played for head coaches Rudy Tomjanovich, Tim Floyd and Paul Silas
- Started his coaching career by becoming an assistant – and eventually associate head coach – to his father at Valpo; took over the program when his father retired in 2011
- Took the Crusaders to the postseason in each of his five seasons as head coach, including 2 NCAA Tournaments and an NIT Runner-up finish in 2016
- Won four Horizon League regular season titles and two conference tournament titles in five years at Valparaiso
- Hired as the Vanderbilt head coach in April 2016, leading the Commodores to the NCAA Tournament in his first season
- Fired in March 2019 after just three seasons; had gone 0-18 in the SEC in his third year at the helm
- In March 2020, Drew was hired to be the new head coach at Grand Canyon in the WAC
- In his first year, won a WAC title and took the Antelopes to the Big Dance for the first time by way of a WAC Tournament crown
- Returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2023 and 2024, winning back-to-back WAC Tournaments
- Drew and the Antelopes won the WAC regular season outright for the first time in 2023-24 and returned to the NCAA Tournament
