- Hometown: St. Petersburg, Florida
- Alma Mater: Kansas State University (BS, 2007) / Salem International University (MS, 2013)
- Started on the coaching path as a student manager at Cincinnati under Andy Kennedy
- Transferred to Kansas State to finish his degree; served as a student manager under both Bob Huggins and Frank Martin
- Continued coaching after graduation, serving as JV head coach and a varsity assistant at St. Mary’s Ryken HS (MD)
- Spent one year as a volunteer video assistant on Donnie Jones‘ first staff at UCF
- After one year each assisting at Arlington Country Day HS (FL), Jones County JC (MS) and Northwest Florida State, Kiefer reunited with Martin as a video assistant for one season at South Carolina
- First arrived at Southeastern Louisiana in 2015, spending the following season as an assistant under Jay Ladner
- Elevated to associate head coach the following year, serving in that role for three seasons
- Named interim head coach at SELU in April 2019 after Ladner’s departure to Southern Miss, then had interim tag removed in July
- Through five seasons, Kiefer is 68-87 with one postseason appearance (2022 TBC)
