- Born January 19, 1979
- Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Alma Mater: Central State University (BS, 2003 & MS, 2008)
- Was an all-conference and all-state player as a senior at Alexander Hamilton HS in Milwaukee
- Started his college career playing one season at UW Milwaukee for head coach Ric Cobb
- Transferred to then-NAIA Central State in Wilberforce, Ohio, where he earned all-conference honors as a senior
- Graduated in 2003 and joined Central State’s coaching staff, where he was an assistant coach for seven years
- Took over as head coach at CSU in 2010, coaching the Division II program for four seasons
- Had eight total wins from the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons vacated by the NCAA after being charged with a lack of institutional control
- Left his alma mater in 2014 to become the head coach at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
- The program was transitioning from Division II down to NAIA
- Jackson led the team to the Division II Tournament in their final years as members
- In 2016-17, Stillman went 22-5 overall as a NAIA Independent program under Jackson
- Hired in June 2017 to be the new head coach at Grambling State out of the SWAC, his first Division I coaching position
- Won SWAC COY in 2018 and was also given the Ben Jobe Award as the nation’s top minority head coach
- Led the Tigers to a SWAC title in his first season, and two more in years six and seven; named SWAC COY in 2023
- Jackson and the Tigers won the 2024 SWAC Tournament to go to their first-ever NCAA Tournament; won a second Ben Jobe Award
