Hawaii’s Eran Ganot returns from medical leave after missing 13 games

Hawaii head basketball coach Eran Ganot is returning to the sidelines Sunday following a two-month medical leave. The Rainbow Warriors were coached by assistant Chris Gerlufsen for the first 13 games of the season, during which time they went 8-5.

Over the past several weeks, Ganot began taking part in some team activities and attended several practices. He is 77-48 overall since getting hired in 2015. During his first season at the helm, he led the program to a Big West title, Big West Tournament crown and a spot in the NCAA Tournament, where they upset 4-seed California in the first round (the first NCAA win in program history).

The Warriors host Maine on Sunday night in Honolulu and will begin Big West Conference play next week.
