- Alma Mater: Kent State University (BA, 2009)
- Won a Tennessee 3A state title in 2005 at Ridgeway HS in Memphis, then went to play for Jim Christian and Geno Ford at Kent State
- Started his coaching career as a graduate assistant under Darrin Horn at South Carolina before returning to his alma mater to be an assistant coach for two seasons (one each under Ford and Rob Senderoff)
- Spent one year each as an assistant at Charleston (under Doug Wojcik), Toledo (under Tod Kowalczyk) and Louisiana Tech (under Mike White) before following White to Florida in 2015
- Was with the Gators for six seasons and was part of four NCAA Tournaments; helped recruit and develop several NBA talents
- Hired in March 2021 to become the next head coach of the Jacksonville Dolphins
- Went 21-10 in his first season and was one win from the Big Dance; Mincy won the 2022 Joe B. Hall Award
