- Alma Mater: Whitman College (BA, 1998)
- Graduated from Kelso HS (WA) and started his collegiate career with stints at Walla Walla CC (WA) and D-II Colorado State-Pueblo
- Finished his career and degree at D-III Whitman back in Walla Walla, WA, then played overseas in Australia and Germany
- Joined Mark Few‘s staff at Gonzaga in 2000 in an admin role and then was elevated to assistant coach the following year
- Spent a total of 21 seasons with the Zags, during which they went to NCAA Tournament every year and won 20x WCC titles
- The Bulldogs reached the Final Four in both 2017 and 2021 but fell short each year in the National Championship game
- In April 2021, Lloyd was hired to be the new head coach of the Arizona Wildcats in the Pac-12
- Won the Pac-12 regular season title and Pac-12 Tournament in his first year at the helm; Lloyd was named Pac-12 COY and NABC COY and the Wildcats reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen as a 1-seed
- In June 2022, the University approved a new five-year deal for Lloyd to lock him in through the 2026-27 season
- The 2022-23 team won the Maui Invitational and the Pac-12 Tournament but were upset by 15-seed Princeton in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament
- In 2024, the program left the dissolving Pac-12 to join the Big 12
