- Alma Mater: University of Kentucky (BS, 2003)
- Graduated from Miami Senior HS (FL), where he played basketball for future college coach Frank Martin
- Played four years at Kentucky for head coaches Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith; won two National Championships (1996 & 1998) at UK
- Played professionally from 1998 to 2001 for the Rockford Lightning (CBA), Dakota Wizards (IBA) and Cincinnati Stuff (IBL)
- Returned to Kentucky to finish his degree in 2002 and spent one season as a special assistant to Tubby Smith
- Spent the next thirteen seasons as a full-time assistant coach, first under Kyle Macy at Morehead State, then under Anthony Grant at VCU, Pat Kennedy at Towson, Ken McDonald at WKU and finally for five seasons at Wyoming under Larry Shyatt
- Promoted to Wyoming’s head coach in 2016 following Shyatt’s resignation
- Won the 2017 CBI in his first season as the Cowboys’ head coach
- Edwards was let go in March 2020 after going 17-48 in the previous two seasons combined
- Hired in April 2020 to join first-year head coach Stan Johnson‘s staff at Loyola Marymount
- Two years later, Edwards reunited with his old HS coach Frank Martin, becoming associate head coach at UMass
- Along with his wife, LaTanya, has two daughters and one son
