Allen Edwards fired after four seasons at Wyoming

After four seasons at Wyoming, head basketball coach Allen Edwards has been relieved of his duties. Edwards was 60-76 overall and just 17-48 over the last two seasons. As a buyout, Edwards will receive his full base salary for next season ($220K).

One of the biggest issues outside of the losses on the court was a lack of interest within the fan base. The Cowboys were just 4-13 in their 15,000-seat home stadium and routinely played in front of (to put it lightly) sparse crowds – even when then-undefeated San Diego State came to town.

Looking ahead for Wyoming, here are some names that make sense:

Northern Colorado head coach Jeff Linder, Washington assistant (and former Seattle head coach) Cameron Dollar, Portland State head coach Barret Peery, North Florida head coach (and former Wyoming assistant) Matthew Driscoll and New Mexico State associate head coach James Miller.
