- Alma Mater: Southern Utah University (BS, 1996)
- The Utah-native started his playing career at Snow College before transferring to Southern Utah for his final two seasons, where he played for Thunderbirds head coach Bill Evans
- Was an assistant coach for ten seasons between 1995 and 2005, including stints working for Evans at SUU, Jeff Reinert at UVU, Heath Schroyer at Portland State and Gib Arnold at Southern Idaho
- Took over as head coach at Southern Utah in 2005, going 85-19 in 3 seasons and winning the Scenic West title each year
- Spent 3 seasons working under Jim Boylen at Utah before becoming the head coach at Indian Hills CC (IA) in 2011
- Went 96-10 over 3 seasons, winning 3-straight ICCAC titles and finishing as the NJCAA Division I runner-up in 2014
- Worked as an assistant under Herb Sendek for two seasons, one each at Arizona State and Santa Clara
- Hired in 2017 to be head coach at Portland State, marking a return to the school 14 years after serving as an assistant there
- Peery was 63-57 overall through four seasons at the helm and went to the CIT in 2018
- Resigned in April 2021 to join the coaching staff at Texas Tech as associate head coach under Mark Adams
