- Started his coaching career with two seasons as an assistant at Archbishop Carroll HS in Washington, DC
- Spent thirteen seasons at Maryland as an assistant to Hall of Fame head coach Gary Williams
- Was head coach at Loyola (MD) for nine seasons, leading the Greyhounds to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and the CIT in 2013
- Hired as the head coach at Siena in 2013, winning the 2014 CBI Championship in his first season at the helm
