- Ronald Eugene Hunter
- Born April 7, 1964
- Hometown: Dayton, Ohio
- Alma Mater: Miami University (BA, 1986)
- Graduated from Chaminade-Julienne HS in Dayton, then played at Miami (OH) under Darrell Hedric and Jerry Peirson
- Started coaching in 1987 as an assistant to Steve Antrim at Milwaukee
- Returned to his alma mater in 1993 and spent one season as an assistant to Herb Sendek
- Hired in 1994 as the head coach at IUPUI, then a NAIA Independent program; the Jaguars moved to D-I starting in 1998
- Hunter won 274 games in 17 seasons at IUPUI, not including 18 wins that were later vacated from the 2003-04 season
- Coached future NBA point guard and Summit POY George Hill from 2004-2008
- Took over the Georgia State program in March 2011
- Has three Sun Belt titles and three Sun Belt Tournaments (leading to three NCAA berths) in eight years with the program
- Left in March 2019 to take over as the head coach at Tulane
- Through four seasons, Hunter is 56-57 overall; his 2022-23 team won 20 games for the first time in ten years
- Along with his wife, Amy, has one son and one daughter
- Son R.J. played at Georgia State and was selected in the first round (28th) by the Boston Celtics in the 2015 NBA Draft
