  • Hometown: Waterford, Michigan
  • Alma Mater: Eckerd College (BA, 1995) / Wayne State University (MA, 1998 & Ph.D, 2003)
  • Played PG at Eckerd College (FL), helping lead the Tritons to the Division II NCAA Tournament
  • Spent two seasons as an assistant for his father at Oakland CC (MI) while earning his master’s degree at nearby Wayne State
    • Would later earn a Ph.D in Instructional Technology with a Cognate in Sports Administration, putting him on a short list of Division I head coaches with doctorate degrees
  • Started his Division I career in 1999 as DBO for UNC Greensboro head coach Fran McCaffery
  • Became a full-time assistant a year later at High Point, spending two seasons working under head coach Jerry Steele
  • First arrived at Lehigh in 2002, working as an assistant under Billy Taylor; elevated to associate head coach in 2006
  • Reed took over the team as head coach a year later and has since become the winningest coach in program history
    • Taken the Hawks to two NCAA Tournaments (2010 & 2012) by way of Patriot League Tournament titles
      • The 2012 NCAA appearance including a stunning first round upset of #2 Duke by the #15 Mountain Hawks, 75-70
    • Recruited and coached two-time Patriot League POY and future NBA shooting guard C. J. McCollum (2016 NBA Most Improved Player)
    • Reed’s teams have won 20+ games five different times; there had only been two 20+ win seasons in the program’s history prior to his arrival
  • Along with his wife, Kindra, has two sons and one daughter
