- After a stellar prep career at Edwardsville High School, played four seasons for Tom Crean at Marquette
- Spent one year after graduation as a grad assistant on Crean’s staff (during which the Golden Eagles made a run to the Final Four) before taking a full-time assistant position under another former Marquette assistant, Tod Kowalczyk
- Joined Cuonzo Martin‘s staff at Missouri State in 2008, beginning a seven-year run with Martin at MSU, Tennessee & California
- Hired as head coach of his hometown program, SIU Edwardsville, in 2015
- Went 31-88 during his tenure at SIUE, but was fired in March 2019 after his fourth straight 20-loss season
- Along with his wife, Heidi, has two daughters and one son
