- Alma Mater: Syracuse University (BA, 1994)
- Born in North Carolina but raised in Harlem, Autry attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine HS in The Bronx, NY
- Was three-time All-New York City, won NYC and State championships in 1988 and was a McDonald’s All-American in 1990
- Started at point guard at Syracuse for four years under head coach Jim Boeheim; played in three NCAA Tournaments and still ranks top 10 in program history in career assists, steals and minutes played
- Played professionally overseas between 1995 and 2005, including stints in Istanbul, Germany, Italy, France, Russia, Belgium and Poland
- Starting his coaching career at the high school level in Virginia, working as an assistant at both Bishop Ireton Catholic HS and Paul VI HS
- Also served as an AAU head coach with NOVA United and Team Takeover
- Joined Seth Greenberg‘s staff at Virginia Tech, spending two years as director of basketball ops and one as an assistant
- Returned to his alma mater to be an assistant under Boeheim in 2011, and after Mike Hopkins‘ departure to Washington in 2017, was elevated to associate head coach
- During his time on staff, he was part of six NCAA Tournaments, with three Sweet Sixteens and two Final Four runs
- In March 2023, Boeheim announced his retirement and Autry was officially named his successor at head coach
