- Alma Mater: University of Cincinnati (BS, 2004)
- Played for two year at Cleveland State for Rollie Massimino before transferring to Cincinnati, where he was a student assistant under Bob Huggins
- Spent two years as an assistant under Jeff Young at then-NAIA Walsh University in Ohio
- Was on staff for the Cavaliers’ 2005 NAIA D-II National Championship crown
- Joined Huggins‘ staff at West Virginia in 2007 as DBO before being elevated to assistant coach in 2011
- Spent five seasons as head coach at Division II Fairmont State (WV), where he went 124-38 overall
- Went to four NCAA D-II Tournaments and finished as D-II National Runner-Up in 2017
- Hired in March 2017 to be the new head coach at Youngstown State, a return to his home state of Ohio
- Through six seasons at the helm, Calhoun has an overall record of 96-96
- In 2022-23, Calhoun led the Penguins to their first-ever Horizon League title and was named Horizon COY
- Along with his wife, Sarah, has one son and two daughters
