Saint Louis head coach Jim Crews fired after four seasons
Jim Crews has been let go from his position as head coach of the Saint Louis Billikens after four seasons. The Billikens won the Atlantic-10 regular season in each of Crews’ first two seasons and a A-10 Tournament title in 2013. But in the last two seasons, the team has gone just 22-41 combined.
Crews came to Saint Louis in 2011 an assistant but was elevated to head coach in 2012 when Rick Majerus was forced to resign due to health concerns. Prior to SLU, Crews was the head coach at Army (2002-2009) and Evansville (1985-2002).
Crews is an Indiana alum who played for Bob Knight and was a member undefeated 1976 NCAA National Championship team. His first coaching job was an assistant to Knight at Indiana from 1977-1985, where he was on the staff for another National Championship in 1981.
