Miami (OH) parts ways with head coach Jack Owens

Jack Owens has been let go after five seasons as the head coach at Miami (OH), the school announced on Wednesday. Owens was 70-83 overall with just one postseason appearance (the 2018 CBI) and finished above .500 just once.

“I want to thank Jack Owens for his tremendous effort and work ethic in leading Miami Basketball,” AD David Sayler said in a statement. “We all have a great amount of respect for Jack, who he is, how he conducts himself and how he ran the program. Jack’s leadership throughout the pandemic was always centered on student-athlete well-being and he accomplished a lot in challenging times. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Owens was hired in 2017 after spending the previous nine seasons on Matt Painter‘s staff at Purdue.
