Former head coach Ken Burmeister dies at 72
Ken Burmeister, who served as the head coach at UTSA, Loyola Chicago and Incarnate Word, passed away on Tuesday after a bout with cancer. Coach Burmeister was 72 years old.
Burmeister won 330 games as a collegiate head coach and led the UTSA Roadrunners to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance back in 1988. From 2006-18, he had been at Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. The program moved from Division II to Division I during his tenure and he left in 2018 as the second-winningest coach in program history (202-138 overall).
