- Alma Mater: University of Mississippi (BS, 1983)
- Played for Bob Weltlich at Ole Miss; was a part of the Rebels team that won the 1981 SEC Tournament
- Started his coaching career at Jim Hill HS in Jackson, MS, where he was honored as Metro Coach of the Year
- First collegiate job was a two-year stint under Kermit Davis at Idaho; the Vandals went to the NCAA Tournament both years
- Followed Davis to Texas A&M, then spent one additional year there working for new head coach Tony Barone
- Spent two seasons each assisting David Hobbs at Alabama and Tim Floyd at Iowa State
- Was part of three NCAA Tournament teams and one NIT team in that four-year span
- Returned to his home state in 1996 to be the head coach at Southern Mississippi
- Went 123-111 in eight seasons at the helm, leading the Eagles to two NITs
- Resigned in March 2004 following three straight losing seasons
- After a year away, Green was hired as head coach at Mississippi Valley State in 2005
- Improved the Delta Devils from 9 wins in year one to back-to-back SWAC titles
- Won the SWAC Tournament in 2008, taking the program back to the NCAA Tournament
- Left for Jacksonville State in 2008, leading the Gamecocks for eight seasons
- Failed to reach the postseason, finishing above .500 just once (2012-13) during his tenure
- Since 2016, Green has been the head coach at Meridian CC (MS)
- Green was named MACCC Coach of the Year in 2022 after leading the Eagles to a 22-7 record
