- Hometown: Silver Spring, Maryland
- Alma Mater: Mount St. Mary’s University (BA, 1990)
- The Maryland-native played for Hall of Fame coach Jim Phelan at Mount St. Mary’s for four years
- Later started his coaching career at his alma mater, spending three seasons as one of Phelan‘s assistants
- Was on staff when the Mountaineers went to the NCAA Tournament in 1995 and the NIT in 1996
- Spent eight seasons – three at Siena and five at Georgia Tech – working as an assistant under Paul Hewitt
- Part of four NCAA Tournament teams, including the GT squad that finished National Runner-up in 2004
- Hired in 2005 to be the head coach at Jacksonville, leading the Dolphins for nine seasons
- Won back-to-back A-Sun titles to earn NIT bids in 2009 and 2010, plus a CIT bid in 2011
- Finished below .500 in the next three seasons, however, and was let go in 2014; went 126-150 overall
- Worked on Mark Turgeon‘s staff at Maryland for three seasons and was Matt McCall‘s associate head coach at UMass for two years
- Became an assistant coach at Georgia State in 2019 under Rob Lanier; part of the 2021-22 Panthers team that reached the NCAA Tournament
- Followed Lanier to SMU in April 2022, becoming an assistant with the Mustangs
