Major shake-ups within Delaware State athletic department
Delaware State has announced a slew of changes within it’s athletic department, starting with the retirement of AD Dr. D. Scott Gines. Additionally, head men’s basketball coach Eric Skeeters and head women’s basketball coach David Caputo have been let go.
Skeeters was hired in 2018 after spending two seasons at UMBC, where he was a part of the Retrievers’ historic upset of 1-seed Virginia. He went 15-67 overall and the Hornets were just 3-16 this past season.
Uncertainty remains about the future of the program, following rumors last year that the school was planning to leave the MEAC for the NEC. DSU ultimately stayed put, but the changes seem far from over.
