  • Alma Mater: University of California, Riverside (BA, 1976) / Azusa Pacific University (M.Ed, 1993)
  • Reynolds played for Freddie Goss at (then-Div II) UC Riverside from 1972-76; named CCAA POY as a junior in 1975
    • Played in the D-II NCAA Tournament three times, reaching the Elite Eight in all three years
  • Started his coaching career at his alma mater UCR, spending sixteen seasons as an assistant under coach John Masi
    • Part of ten D-II NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Final Fours (1989 and 1995)
  • Moved up to the D-I level in 1995, spending two seasons as an assistant coach under Philip Mathews at San Francisco
  • Was the head coach at D-II Cal State San Bernardino for five seasons, going 110-35 overall
    • After going 12-15 (3-9) in his first season, Reynolds’ team improved to 23-8 (16-6) in year two and then won three-straight CCAA titles
    • Went to the D-II NCAA Tournament four times, reaching the Elite Eight in both 1999 and 2001
  • Hired in 2002 to be the head coach at D-I Long Beach State, leading the 49ers for five seasons
    • Was 63-83 overall (45-83 officially), improving from 5 wins in year one to 24 wins and a Big West title in year five
    • The NCAA charged Reynolds and LBSU with violations in 2007, vacating 18 wins from the 2005-06 season; Reynolds was fired following the 2006-07 season after winning the 2007 Big West COY award
  • Returned to the CCAA in 2009, becoming the head coach at Stanislaus State (CA)
    • Went 121-128 in nine seasons at the helm; went to the 2014 D-II NCAA Tournament after winning the CCAA Tournament
    • Announced in 2017 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s; the school hired Paul Trevor to be the co-head coach for the 2017-18 season to help lower the workload on Reynolds (team went 17-12)
    • Reynolds stepped away from coaching at the end of that season, with Trevor taking over as the sole head coach
  • Inducted into the UC Riverside Athletics HOF in 1996 and the CSU San Bernardino Athletics HOF in 2017
