- Hometown: Medford, Massachusetts
- Alma Mater: Tufts University (BS, 1992 & M.Ed, 1995)
- Played for head coach Bob Sheldon at D-III Tufts, where he set school records for single-season and career assists
- Started his coaching career as an assistant under Sheldon at his alma mater, then assisted Dave DeCiantis at D-II Stonehill (MA)
- Spent two seasons as the head coach at D-III Curry College (MA), going 24-25 overall
- Joined the D-I ranks in 1998, spending the next 13 seasons working as an assistant for various head coaches and programs
- Worked under Rudy Keeling (Northeastern), Rick Boyages (William & Mary), Tom Herrion (College of Charleston), Jim Baron (Rhode Island), Keno Davis (Providence) and Jamie Dixon (Pittsburgh)
- Hired in 2011 to be head coach at Towson; has taken the Tigers to three postseason appearances in twelve seasons
- Skerry’s teams have won 20+ games six times, something the program had only done once in D-I play prior to his arrival
- In 2022, the Tigers won a share of the CAA title for the first time since joining the conference in 2001
- Along with his wife, Kristen, has two sons
