  • Alma Mater: California State University, Fresno (BA, 2004)
  • Prepped at Dos Pueblos HS (CA) then played three seasons for the California Golden Bears and head coach Ben Braun
  • Transferred to Fresno State in 2002 to finish his degree and to play his final collegiate season for head coach Ray Lopes
    • Served as the Bulldogs’ team captain and averaged 15.0 points per game
  • Started his coaching career in 2007, spending two seasons as an assistant at Laguna Blanca HS in Santa Barbara, CA
  • Arrived at Eastern Washington in 2009, spending two seasons as an assistant under Kirk Earlywine and another six seasons under Jim Hayford
  • Took over as the Eagles head coach in March 2017 following Hayford’s departure to Seattle
    • Led the team to the 2018 CBI in his first season, finishing with a 20-15 record
    • In 2020, Legans’ team won the Big Sky title and he earned Big Sky COY honors
    • The following year, Legans led the Eagles back to the NCAA Tournament by way of a Big Sky Tournament crown
  • In March 2021, Legans was hired to be the head coach at Portland in the WCC
    • Went 19-15 in his first season, which included a bid to The Basketball Classic (normally known as the CIT)
