- Played four seasons at Colgate under head coach Emmett Davis; served as team captain as a senior
- Started his coaching career in 2004, spending three seasons as one of Davis‘ assistants at his alma mater
- Worked at Tulsa for five years under Doug Wojcik and then three seasons at VCU under Shaka Smart
- Spent one year each as an assistant at Illinois State (under Dan Muller) and Pittsburgh (under Kevin Stallings) before returning to VCU in 2017 to be Mike Rhoades‘ associate head coach
- Hired in April 2018 to become the head coach at Florida International (FIU), his first shot at head coaching
- Went 20-14 in his first season, the first 20+ win effort for the program since 1998
